Suheil Totah serves as Vice President of Development for Thomas Enterprises, Inc. In this role, Totah leads the development effort for The Railyards and other Thomas Enterprises’ projects throughout Northern California. Prior to joining Thomas Enterprises, Inc. in mid 2005, Totah was a partner at the international law firm of Morrison Foerster LLP and was the lead attorney representing Thomas Enterprises in its negotiations to acquire and redevelop the 240-acre downtown Sacramento Railyards.
During his nearly two decades of practicing law, Totah represented large institutional clients on high-profile development projects. His client list included Lennar Corporation, Bank of America, Chevron Corporation, Wells Fargo Bank and The Shorenstein Company. Totah’s roster of successful projects includes 200 Brannan, which transformed the Gallo Salame complex of buildings in the South Beach neighborhood of San Francisco into a unique mixed-use community; Mariposa Square, which redeveloped the Best Foods Mayonnaise plant located on an entire city block in San Francisco’s Mission District into a mixed-use community with multi-media, restaurants, lofts and retail uses; the Esquire Plaza/Imax Theatre project and the Crest Theatre redevelopment projects in downtown Sacramento; and the Twelve Bridges and Empire Ranch master planned communities in the Sacramento region. Totah has also been involved in numerous complex industrial projects including the sale of refineries and joint ventures involving chemical and gas facilities throughout the Midwest. Together with a team of attorneys, Totah also represented the owners in the acquisition of the San Francisco Giants.
Totah is a full member of the Urban Land Institute and a member of the Sacramento Tree Foundation and Sacramento Old City Association. He is active with several Sacramento-based non-profit organizations including UC Davis Mind Institute, Families for Early Autism Treatment (FEAT), St. Hope Corporation, and the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce. In September 2004, Totah was selected as a Real Estate “Super Lawyer.” He received his law degree with honors from Golden Gate University School of Law and undergraduate degree from San Francisco State University.
